Virginia “Ginny” Bennett (maiden name: Donley) passed away June 25, 2019 at the age of 77. One of six children, she was born in Detroit, Michigan to parents Paul L. and Ann Donley on January 21, 1942. She graduated from Rosary High School in Detroit, then she attended and graduated as a Dominican Nun from Adrian College. As a nun she taught grade school in Harvey, Illinois for a number of years.
Later she taught in an American school in Venezuela. She came back to the States and met the love of her life, Don Bennett. They were married in August of 1979, and lived in Caseville for eleven years.
In 2013, they returned to the Detroit area, where they resided until Virginia passed away.
Virginia is survived by her loving husband, Don, and many siblings, children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She loved her family dearly, as they did her.
She will be missed and remembered by all whose lives she touched.

Ginny was a truly good person, solid gold. She loved children and I’m sure all the children she touched in her life felt that love from her. Ginny loved to laugh. I smile just thinking of her. Greetings to her family and friends. We will miss her.
Don, I am so sorry for your loss. She was loved by so many. She was one of those people who loved each and every person she met. Prayers go for you and the Donley family.
My heart is full of love for my dear friend Ginny. I was so privileged to have her as my friend. She always told me I could be her adopted sister. Her sense of humor often kept me in stitches. She supported me so many times in my hour of need after the death of my husband. She will be missed.

I feel very fortunate to have had Ginny as my sweet step mom for the last 40 years! She was a wonderful Grandmother to Kyle and Brad, so many good times that we will cherish. We will truly miss her.
