Terry Black

Terry Lee Black, 36, of Hamtramck, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly at his home on 10/10/2021. Terry was born to Roger and Millie (Klein) Black on May 4,1985 in Gaylord, MI. Terry was engaged to Jennifer Zytkowski. Terry was raised in Vienna Corners, Michigan and moved to Hamtramck as an adult. Terry had a heart of gold. He would give the shirt off his back, or the last dollar in his pocket to anyone that needed it. He enjoyed time spent with family.

Terry liked to be the life of the party and making people laugh. He loved trips up north to return to the Black River where he spent a lot of time as a youth making memories with family members. He is survived by his fiancé Jennifer Zytkowski of Hamtramck, sister Carolyn Black of Detroit, MI, stepbrother Christopher Artman (Yucca Valley, CA), nieces Ebony, Serenity, and Kaylee, and nephew Emoni. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roger and Millie (Klein) Black, stepmother Katherine (Artman) Black, grandparents Archie Black, Marcella (Weber) Black, grandparents Pat and Nelda (Farrell) Klein, several uncles, aunts, and cousins.

A memorial service will take place in the spring in Northern Michigan.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Terry was always such a sweetheart. No matter what, he gave an amazing hug when I saw him!

  4. I Just Found out About Terry Passing Away , When Jennifer Passed Away. I moved Up-North 8 years ago and wasnt in Contact with Jennifer and Him for a couple years…. I’m So Sorry about hearing this. He was a Really good guy and Friend… RIP My Friend

  5. I am still bummed to know you are gone, man. Though I won’t claim that we were Best Friend’s Forever or any of that nonsense, every interaction I had with you was a Positive one. What I can speak on is how happy you seemed to make Jennifer and how inspiring that was. You worked your way into her life seemingly overnight and I could tell you brought her TRUE Happiness and a new lease on life. From an observer and a Man’s perspective, I thought that was a pretty impressive thing to do and from a Family perspective I was happy to see somebody make a family member happy, because after all, life is too short and I keep your deaths close to me without dwelling on them only as a reminder to myself to make EVERY Second Count because I’m not much younger than you were, Brother. All our times coming someday. Hopefully no time soon but I’ll see ya when I see ya, I already KNOW you guys will have some totally random island themed party going on by time I get there so please hold a seat for me!
