Bridget A Cox Wirtz

It is with great sadness we announce the death of Bridget A. Cox Wirtz of St. Clair Shores, MI, who passed away peacefully, August 11, 2023 at the age of 95, in her home, with her daughter by her side. She was born on November 6, 1927 in Port Huron, the daughter of the late Charles E. and Anna (Volanski) Cox and the last of their three daughters.

Bridget was a graduate of St. Stephen High School, and received an Associates Degree from St. Clair Community College. Bridget was a medical secretary until she retired and was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. And she prayed for everyone everyday.

Bridget loved being with family and friends, loved Big Band music, she sang on the radio in Port Huron at WHLS in her younger days, played bridge, loved to read, work in her garden, and loved to travel with her friends. Bridget loved Halloween and of course St. Patrick’s Day. Bridget was a ray of sunshine, was fun and always had a smile for everyone. Bridget also love playing practical jokes. She was loved by so many people in her life and she loved everyone.

Surviving is her daughter and son-in-law Elizabeth (Beth) and Douglas Moll, several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and many beloved cousins. Special friends, Judy Vigliotti, Phyllis Crowther, Phil Kinnard, and Joe Rogenbeck So many special friends and their children who became family throughout the years. She will be greatly missed by so many.

Bridget was preceded in death by her parents Chares E and Anna (Volanski) Cox, her sisters and brother-in-law’s, Katherine and Charles Peterson, Margaret and Stewart Parent, Nephew, Stewart Parent, many very special friends and Walter Wirtz.

Memorial service will be at 10: 00 am on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church located in St. Clair Shores. MI. Fr. Adam Nowak will officiate. If you are unable to attend the memorial mass you can watch it at: https://sjascs.org/st-joan-live. If you are attending, please wear something green, a scarf, a pin, whatever you have. Internment of ashes will be on Monday, November 6, 2023 at 11:00 am at Mt. Hope Catholic Cemetery, located in Port Huron, MI.

A special Thank You to Diane Fagelman, Anne Marie Bresser, Lynn Ann and Jack Pohl and Elara Caring Hospice Care for their support and help in her final days.  You were a Godsend.
