Anna Marie Labellarte

Anna Marie Labellarte, 63, passed away on December 19, 2021. She is survived by her brothers, Francis and Michael John, a sister, Natalie, sisters-in-law, Patti and Nina, and her step-mother, Shari. She was preceded in death by her father Vito, her mother, Angelica, her stepfather Archie, her brother Vito Labellarte, Jr. and her niece Danielle. After graduating from East Detroit High School, Anna started a well respected and successful career in the legal field. After living and working for many years in a law firm in Beverly Hills, California, she returned to Michigan and ultimately joined the Oakland County Court system. She had many loyal friends and colleagues at the courthouse including Edward Hutton, Kelly Strong, and Judge Kathleen Ryan.

She loved her family and is survived by many nieces, nephews, and their children as well as first and second cousins. In addition to her family, she is survived by long time friends Laura Brown and Karlin Rossi.

Anna was artistic; she was both a collector and a crafter. She loved flowers and would have been a florist but the career in law blossomed first. She was conversationally fluent in Farsi, had an imaginative virtual life, and will be remembered by her family for being passionately obstinate and by her colleagues as being a ‘firecracker.’

There will be a celebration of life in May.

  1. Nina I Labellarte

I love Anna with all my heart. She was my sister in life.. We chose each other. We’ve done many things together. I miss her everyday.. No one could replace her in my heart so I’ll have to keep her there with Danielle and Mom.

  2. Anna was a intelligent Beautiful Lady that will be greatly miss. I have had the honor of knowing her for the majority of my life. But over the past few years she had become another sister to me. She left us way to soon and I will miss our conversations.

  3. Maria Labellarte

Auntie Anna is an icon in our family. She’s the kind of person you think of as immortal because her personality and laugh were so strong. She was the hardest working woman I know. We were close friends and laughed to keep from crying. She’s the Louise to my Thelma. She loved my son Hunter and encouraged me to be my best self. I am grateful for her in our lives. I will continue to work hard to keep her legacy alive. Love and miss you Auntie ❤️

  4. Bonnie Sellars

I love you my sister by another mother. Thank you for being such a wonderful light in my and my family’s life. I still listen to your voice on a daily miss you my friend.. I know you are being very busy up there and celebrating with the rest of our family. See you soon.

  5. I’m saddened to find Anna gone. She was my secretary at Rubin Eagan & Feder in BH for six years during the 80s. She was remarkably talented – easily the best in the office. Sheldon Rubin conscripted her when I left that firm. I also loved her wit. Even her teasing was good natured. A few years ago she sent me a hand knitted blanket that I enjoy in cooler months here in San Diego. I will miss her. She was fab.
