Robert Douglas Hartley

Robert Douglas Hartley, 76, of Clinton Township, Michigan died Sunday, April 26, 2020 at Henry Ford Hospital in Clinton Township, Michigan from complications due to COVID19 Disease.

Bob was born on Wednesday, April 28, 1943, to Thornton Douglass Hartley and Mary Dorothy (Bonell) Hartley in Detroit, Michigan.

Bob attended Lincoln High School in Warren Michigan where he met and married his high school sweetheart, Nancy (Barr) Hartley. They were married on June 6, 1964 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Detroit, Michigan.

Bob worked for over 40 years as a Pipe Fitter and later started a business with his son, Jim, called RDH Company. This business has taken many turns over the years, it started as a painting business, then went on to become a remodeling and home improvement business and is still being run by his son James.

Bob was a long-time member of The Woods Church in Warren, Michigan, where he attended with his late wife. He was an active member of the church choir for several years. He was also a member of the Santa Maria Lodge #220 for over 30 years. There he served on the board and was involved in many of the Columbus Day and Italian Riverfront Festivals.

He was predeceased by his wife Nancy on May 7, 2012. He is survived by his partner Teresa, Daughter, Suzanne (Hartley) (William) Burke and Son, James (Linda) Hartley. He has 6 grandchildren: Lauren (Philip) Tibitoski, Douglass Hartley, Melissa Hartley, Nicholas Hartley, Kimberly Hartley and Kellie Hartley. He also has 3 Grand-dogs and 2 Great-Grand-dogs.

SERVICE INFORMATION

A memorial service is being planned for later this summer.
