John Gerard Quinn, 86, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2020, surrounded by his children. John was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, on September 1, 1934, to Margaret and Patrick Quinn. He was one of 8 children and came to America via Canada in 1957 at the age of 23 to live the American dream. John proudly served in the U.S. Army and brought his typewriter repair skills that he learned in Belfast to his Army post.
On September 19, 1964, he married the love of his life, Dorothy Ann Casement, and they enjoyed 53 wonderful years together and raised 4 children: Maureen (Pete) Basile, Linda (Lawrence) McCombs, Brian (Susan), Joan (Robert) Stein. John worked tirelessly running a small office repair business to provide for his family and encouraged his children to pursue their dreams. He was a devoted grandfather to his 10 grandchildren: Robert Jr, Brian Jr, Sean, Rachel, Jacob, Kyle, Katie, Kent, Megan and Ryan.
John’s love of life was witnessed by all who knew him. With his warm personality, sweet Irish accent, and his willingness to help others, he made people smile and made friends wherever he went.
John’s life and reunion with his wife Dorothy in Heaven will be celebrated with a memorial mass to be arranged.
